The Liver: Your Body's Detox Engine

The liver is the largest internal organ, and it does a lot. Here is an excerpt of what the liver does from the book: Chris Beat Cancer by Chris Wark: “Your liver is your body’s detoxification engine and a critical component of your immune system. It processes nearly every toxin that enters your body. An overburdened, sick liver can lead to a toxic body, weakened immune system, and an environment where cancer cells can thrive. So, it makes sense to reduce the workload on your liver and the rest of your body by reducing or eliminating your exposure to unnecessary toxins. The overwhelming awareness of how much potentially toxic stuff is around you may induce some anxiety and paranoia at first, but don’t let fear take over and paralyze you; just make a to-do list and start cleaning up your life. The goal is to reduce your toxic load, and every little bit helps.”

God designed the body to always detoxify. When you urinate, defecate, and perspire, your body detoxifies. Eliminating or reducing the toxic load on your body helps it to detoxify much faster. Here are some suggestions to help lessen the toxic overload on your body:

  • Eliminate the “processed food” diet. Eliminating process food and switching to an organic whole food, plant-based diet are critical steps in reducing the toxic load on the body.

  • Try to exercise, do sauna or steam to help the body detoxify by sweating.

  • Invest is a shower filter to remove chlorine from your shower water. Chlorine has serious toxic effect on the body.

  • Make sure to have at least 3 bowel movements every day.

  • Drink sufficient good quality water daily.

The less work your liver has to do to detoxify avoidable toxins, the more bandwidth it has to detoxify the unavoidable ones.

Did you know?

The most effective fruit and vegetable wash for pesticide removal are a solution of salt water. 1 part salt to 9 parts distilled water. Or 1 teaspoon of baking soda to every 2 cups of distilled water. Soak the produce for 12 to 15 minutes.
