People Who Laugh Often See These Results...
We have heard the saying for many years that laughter is a good medicine and there is validity to this saying. Laughter helps our neurological, physical, emotional, cognitive and social health and well-being in many ways. When you start to laugh, it doesn't just lighten your load mentally, but it actually induces physical changes in your body. In 2002, a study on humor therapy was conducted at Loma Linda University in California. The researchers had 52 men watch a comedy video for 1 hour. Blood samples were taken 10 minutes before watching, 30 minutes into the video, and 30 minutes after the video ended, and once more 12 hours later. The study found that just one hour of watching stand-up comedy boost the immune system by increasing the activity of natural killer cell, B-cells, T-cells and immunoglobulins in the test subjects.
Other benefits produced by laughter
Laughter relaxes the whole body. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after.
Laughter protects the heart. Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.
Laughter lightens anger’s heavy load. Nothing diffuses anger and conflict faster than a shared laugh. Looking at the funny side can put problems into perspective and enable you to move on from confrontations without holding onto bitterness or resentment.
Laughter may even help you to live longer. A study in Norway found that people with a strong sense of humor outlived those who don’t laugh as much. The difference was particularly notable for those battling cancer.
The Laughter Prescription: Watch more comedy and programs that promote laughter. Spend more time with people who bring joy into your life and make you laugh. Laughter is the most fun medicine of all and it’s 100% free! Laugh on purpose and change the course of your life!

“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”
Proverbs 31:25
Just For Laughs!
A mother went to wake her son for church one Sunday morning. When she knocked on his door, he said, “I’m not going!” “Why not?” asked his mother. “I’ll give you two good reasons,” he said. “One, they don’t like me. Two, I don’t like them.” His mother replied, “I’ll give you two good reasons why YOU WILL go to church. One, you’re 47 years old. Two, you’re the pastor!”
