What are YOU Counting? ...Medals? ...Money? ...0r Miracles?

Image
Jesse Owens once said, “The battles that count aren't the ones for gold medals. The struggles within yourself—the invisible, inevitable battles inside all of us—that's where it's at.” This quote challenges us to reflect on what we are truly counting in our lives. Are we focused on accumulating wealth, success, or possessions? Or are we counting the blessings and miracles that happen every day, often in ways we don’t immediately see? Ron Herman’s story illustrates the importance of this reflection. At his lowest point, addicted and desperate, Ron found himself in a hospital. It was there that he noticed a pastor on television speaking about addiction. Feeling resistant, he switched it off. Later, when he returned home, he again heard the same pastor preaching on TV, even though it seemed like nothing else was coming through but static. This unusual coincidence led him to realize that the church broadcasting the sermon was right across the street from his apartment. Feeling

The Amazing Health Benefits of Flaxseed

Image
The flax plant has been used for thousands of years with wonderful benefits to humanity. Some call it one of the most powerful plant foods on the planet.  Flaxseed is essential to great health. It helps prevent atherosclerosis. It fights heart disease by lowering the bad cholesterol and triglycerides. It also decreases the tendency of blood to clot inappropriately. Research suggests that flaxseed protect against breast, prostate, colon, melanoma, and other cancers.   Flaxseed is commonly used to improve digestive health and relieve constipation. Although flaxseed contains all sorts of healthy components, it owes its primary healthy reputation to the following three constituents: Omega-3 essential fatty acids . Flaxseed is one of the richest sources of Omega-3 fatty acids, which are the good fats. Each tablespoon of ground flaxseed contains about 1.8 grams of plant omega-3s. Lignans . Are You Being a Proper Steward?

Image
When we think of stewardship, we often picture the care of natural resources, our communities, our finances and even our time and talents. Rarely, though, do we consider that the concept of stewardship extends to our bodies as well. How marvelous and beautiful is God’s creation! There's a uniqueness and intricacy in all of His works, but humanity holds a distinctive place in creation. Our bodies are magnificent works of craftsmanship and also the temple of the Holy Spirit. The understanding of our bodies being temples of the Holy Spirit implies that God Himself dwells within us. This realization can be both inspiring and humbling. It inspires us to strive for purity, holiness, and health because we house the Spirit of God. When we view our bodies through this lens, it becomes clear that taking care of our physical health isn't just about looking good or living longer. It's an act of worship. It's a way of honoring God, showing gratitude for the life He has given us and

Have You Thought About Eye Health Today?

Image
The eyes are the true windows into one's health, as the eye is the only place in the body where a doctor can have a clear view of our blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue. I’m sure no one wants to lose their vision at any point in time. We only learn to value the gift of sight even more when we don’t have it, or when it is not as good as it used to be. The good news is that we can enjoy healthy eyes and good vison for a very long time if we consistently take care of them. Here, I will share some nutrients that will help keep your eyes healthy. I will begin with Vitamin A . This vitamin is essential for keeping your eyes healthy. Vitamin A is necessary for the proper functioning of the cornea, conjunctiva, and the retina. Vitamin A also provides protection to the lens of the eyes against free radicals. A deficiency of this vitamin can cause night blindness. Vitamin E is a potent antioxidant that helps protect the eye cells from damage by free radicals. Research suggests tha

There's No Quick Fix For This Orchid and The Vanilla Bean Story Says You're Special

The vanilla bean’s journey from a plain pod to a prized flavor is an amazing story of transformation. It starts with a rare orchid flower that blooms just one day each year in the rainforests of Mexico and Central America. To produce vanilla, this flower must be carefully pollinated by hand—a delicate task that kicks off a lengthy process. After pollination, the bean takes six months to grow. Timing is everything; it must be harvested just as it starts to split. Then comes a hot water bath and a “sweating” process that unlocks the bean’s unique flavor. The beans are dried in the sun for weeks and then cured for months to develop their rich taste. The result? A dark, shriveled bean, graded for quality, with the finest ones fetching the highest prices. This meticulous process mirrors our own spiritual journey toward holiness. Just as the vanilla bean requires careful attention and time to become something valuable, our spiritual growth also takes dedication, discipline, and trust
